Student Health and well-being Project Pakistan

Student Health and Well-Being (SHAW)

Youth Platform is a nationwide project in Pakistan for Health Promotion in Universities and Colleges. It aims to raise awareness and offer e-mental health services to students and staff. Developed with input from researchers, practitioners, administrators, students, and policymakers, SHAW encourages institutions to integrate well-being into their operations, practices, and mandates.

The 8 Dimensions Of Wellness

SHAW is focused on addressing the students needs according to the 8 dimensions of wellness. The concept of wellness includes the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of well-being, nourishing the body, engaging the mind, and spiritual relaxation. It consists of eight mutually interdependent dimensions: physical, intellectual, emotional, Social, spiritual, vocational, financial, and environmental. To maintain good health, well-being, and quality of life, one should pay attention to all dimensions, as neglecting any of them will negatively affect the others.

Despite this, they need not be equally balanced. Our goal should be to achieve what feels most authentic to us as “personal harmony.”

Volunteering can have a positive impact on one's health and wellbeing.
